Governor William Kabogo has promised Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu a political nightmare.

The governor said he had “something” in store that would spell doom to the MP’s political career.

Since he became the Kabete MP through a by-election early this year, Mr Waititu has continuously turned political heat on the governor. Calls to him yesterday for his side of the story went answered.

Mr Waititu will challenge Mr Kabogo for the gubernatorial seat in 2017. However, the governor, who spoke at Kamandura Girl’s Secondary School in Limuru on Saturday, said Mr Waititu was no match for him.

“I hear there is a Baba Yao but to me he is not,” he told a Kenya Assemblies of God conference at the school.

“But just wait, we have something coming very soon and you will know who is who, because I do not want the Kiambu people to ever regret.”

The “dossier” would remain a secret for a while, he said, and asked the public to be a little patient.

The MP’s entry to the county’s political scene created an impression that Kiambu was a dumping site for political rejects, he added.

In his battle against the governor, Mr Waititu has won the backing of the county’s other MPs and a majority of ward representatives.

The MP has also threatened to initiate the governor’s impeachment, accusing him of incompetence.

Mr Kabogo took issue with him after he led a band of youths who overturned a garbage truck into ditch in Wangige last week, saying it was blocking access to business premises.

He said he had raised the matter with relevant authorities for action, adding that it was unfortunate that the act was led by an elected leader.

Mr Kabogo said being an experienced politician, he was not shaken by his critics and those fighting him could not match his political game.
