Kiala will represent me in Cord meeting, Machakos Governor Mutua says

Machakos County Governor Dr Alfred Mutua will not attend the Wiper National Executive Council meeting in Machakos on Friday.

Dr Mutua has instead sent his Deputy Bernard Kiala to represent him.

In a letter written to Mr Kiala by County Secretary Grace Munguti, Dr Mutua said he learned about the meeting through the media.

"I have been directed by H.E Governor Mutua to request you to represent him in the Wiper NEC meeting, which the governor heard from the media as scheduled for Friday 22nd " the letter reads.

'CONTINUED SUPPORT'

The governor, who has differed with his deputy, concludes by thanking him for his "continued support."

On Thursday, Mr Kiala said he had received the letter but added it was a "mischievous excuse" from the governor not to attend the meeting.

Mr Kiala said as the host governor Dr Mutua should have been present.

He said Dr Mutua had been invited to the meeting that will also be attended by Cord co-principals Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetang'ula.
