Man killed trying to seize thief fleeing mob in Thika

A man was knifed to death after he attempted to seize a customer who was fleeing a mob in Thika town on Monday after he refused to pay for his meals at a butchery.

The man was walking across Thika main stage when he saw people running after the said customer and decided to help seize him.

"Unfortunately, he got stabbed by the customer who was running with a knife from the butchery after he cut off the butcher’s finger when he was asked to pay for his meal," said an eyewitness.

The butcher was rushed to Thika Level Five hospital.

The fleeing thief was later caught by boda operators who roughed him up, leading to his death.
