A 96-year-old woman from Gatundu, Kiambu County, is seeking to meet President Uhuru Kenyatta in order to present him with what she says is “a dossier alleged to contain vital information regarding the country.”

Hannah Wambui Gatura, alias Wa Kibobo, says she and Njoroge Wainaina, Alias Kenya Boy, are in possession of some important information which they claim they were given by Mzee Jomo Kenyatta during the struggle for independence.

"We are the sole survivors [among] Mzee’s right-hand [group] that comprised of nine members. The information we have can only be divulged to the fourth president," said Wambui.

Ms Wambui alleges that the dossier, which is currently in Wainaina's possession in some secret place in Gatanga, includes files containing important information and keys given to them under oath by Mzee Kenyatta with clear instructions that the dossier be presented to the forth president of the republic.

HIDDEN IN GATANGA

"Wainaina has been hiding in a secret place in Gatanga protecting the dossier. We cannot reveal the contents since we took [the] oath to protect it until it gets to the forth president," she explained.

Accompanied by other descendants of Mau Mau freedom fighters and a former freedom fighter and oath giver, James Ngandu Kinyanjui (97), Wambui told journalists she has made various attempts to reach the President since he ascended to power in 2013 in vain.

"The closest I came to seeing him was sometimes this year when I was asked to take the documents to State House. I submitted my name and reasons for [wanting to] see him at the gate and left. I am yet to get feedback," she said.

Asked what the dossier contains, she said there are files and a set of keys.

"The issues captured in that file touch on the country's leadership and other issues which will bring prosperity, peace and unity in our nation-Kenya," read the letter sent to the President.
