  • Mr Kabogo said Mrs Ngilu had in her memorandum, included a clause which would have compelled President Kenyatta to share power.

Kiambu Governor William Kabogo Wednesday said he stopped the Jubilee Alliance from entering into a coalition government with Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu.

Mr Kabogo said he took documents which would have seen President Uhuru Kenyatta unknowingly enter into a coalition agreement with Narc from Ms Ngilu’s handbag without her knowledge.

He also claimed to have scuttled a plan to have Mr Kenyatta drop his presidential bid in favour of Mr Musalia Mudavadi.

Speaking at Bishop Kariuki Hall in Wangige, Mr Kabogo said Mrs Ngilu had in her memorandum, included a clause which would have compelled President Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto to share power.

He said Mr Kenyatta signed the agreement, oblivious of the clause.

"I NOTICED TRICK"

“Someone had played a trick on Jubilee and I noticed it.

"Ngilu had written her agenda but there was a clause at the bottom that would have seen her share power with Uhuru.

“After signing, she put the papers on the bag but I never kept my eyes off it. She placed it down to hug someone and I took them and went away,” Mr Kabogo said.

Mrs Ngilu could not be reached for comment and she did not return calls.

Mrs Ngilu was previously with Mr Raila Odinga and Mr Kalonzo Musyoka in Cord before ditching them in favour of Jubilee.

She settled for Kitui senatorial race which she eventually lost to Mr David Musila.

Had she been elected, Ms Ngilu would have been the Senate majority leader, a position currently held by Tharaka-Nithi Senator Kindiki Kithure.

Kiambu County Assembly deputy speaker, who accompanied Mr Kabogo as he presented bursary cheques, said the governor was a hero.

Mr Kabogo said he also saved the coalition from surrendering power to Mr Mudavadi.

“I sneaked in Mudavadi’s compound in a lorry and stayed there for 18 hours to spoil everything,” Mr Kabogo said.
