I was 'abducted' by 2 women — Kilifi MP candidate

A Kanu candidate for Kilifi County's Ganze parliamentary seat has spoken for the first time since he was found unconscious after a night out on Sunday.

Anderson Kenga claimed he was abducted by two women at a hotel in Mtwapa.

In the night ordeal, the nominee lost a phone, his national identity card and an ATM card.

In an interview with the Nation on Tuesday, Mr Kenga said he had joined some colleagues for dinner at a restaurant in Mtwapa.

Two women joined them at the table and as the night wore off, they all decided to head to another eatery in Mtwapa.

HOTEL HOPPING

"After several drinks, my colleagues left and I also decided to call it a night, but one of the women offered to drive the car, claiming I was drunk,” he said.

Mr Kenga recalled being offered some drinking water in the car by one of the women before he blacked out.

“I was awakened by villagers who knew me near the Jumba ruins at around 2am. I was still in the passenger seat in my car when the villagers, who heard a vehicle hitting a tree, came out,” he said.

Mr Kenga said all his personal items were stolen and his "abductors" were nowhere to be found.

POLICE REPORT

The women allegedly did not stop there. They sent text messages to some people from his phone saying he was in urgent need of Sh10,000, he said.

“One of my supporters in Ganze who received the message sent the money, but when they called the number, no one was picking up,” said Mr Kenga.

He said he reported the matter to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations at the Kilifi police headquarters.

Kilifi County Criminal Investigation Officer John Ndung’u said police had no information about the incident.

Kilifi police boss Alexander Makau also said he was yet to receive any information on the alleged abduction.
