Plane crash-lands in Kilifi

A light aircraft crash-landed in Tezo area near Kilifi town on Sunday night after developing mechanical problems.

Confirming the incident Kilifi OCPD Mr Justin Nyagah said the pilot of the aircraft left Malindi airport at around 5pm for Ukunda airstrip but on reaching Tezo, the plane developed mechanical problems that forced him to have an emergency landing.

Members of the public from the area assisted the pilot, Mr Joseph Martin, who escaped unhurt.

According to an eye witness Mr Emmanuel Ndiso, the locals saw the aircraft flying low before it landed in a bush.
