President calls for peace ahead of General Election

President Uhuru Kenyatta has told Kenyans to maintain peace and strive for unity ahead of this year's General Election.

The President also urged Kenyans to make good family values the nation's pillar.

"Let us pray for our nation and bring our people together so that we can have peace especially during this election year," he said at the burial of former Malindi MP Francis Tuva's daughter Mary in Msabaha, in Kilifi County.

Ms Tuva was the deputy headteacher of Nairobi International School. She died on January 1.

Also attending were Mining Cabinet Secretary Dan Kazungu, Mombasa Deputy Governor Hazel Katana, and Malindi MP William Mtengo, among others.
