A man has been electrocuted while disconnecting power cables at a funeral in Kisii County.
Kisii County Police Commander Agnes Mudamba said the incident occurred at Bokonye Sub-Location.
"We received a report from area chief Richard Omai that one Erastus Oyaro, 35, was electrocuted while disconnecting the cables. He died on the spot,” she said.
“The body has been moved to Christa Marianne Hospital in Kisii Town pending a post-mortem [examination],” she went on.
Ms Mudamba urged residents to be careful when handling electrical appliances and installations.
"Electricity is a friend but can become a deadly enemy if mishandled," she said.
