A Kenya Defense Forces officer appeared in a Nyahururu High Court over the murder of 14-year-old boy.

The officer, Sospeter Lomongo, denied that he shot the boy when he appeared before Lady Justice Roselyne Wendo.

He was released on Sh300,000 bond.

The charge stated that he shot Lekopure Leiyagu on August 29 at Rumuruti Township in Laikipia County.

A medical report submitted to court showed that the accused was fit to stand trial.

He is alleged to have disagreed with his colleague and opened fire killing the boy and injuring another one.

The police have lined up eight witnesses in the case whose hearing starts on January 29 next year.
