A suspected paedophile narrowly escaped from the jaws of death in Homa Bay town on Monday evening after he was caught with a Form one student in a lodging.

There was drama as the man and student who was clad in a uniform of a well-known girl’s school in Homa Bay town emerged from the brothel after police officers acting on a tip off stormed the room they were in.

Swift action by the officers, stationed at a local bank, saved the man just as the agitated crowd pounced on him.

The girl was on her way back from mid-term break to school when the incident occurred.

A boda boda rider who had earlier dropped the girl became curious after he saw the man heartily greet the girl and walked away with her.

His suspicion was confirmed after he saw the man lead the school girl inside a brothel.

The motorcyclist then immediately alerted the police officers who were on duty guarding one of the banks who then immediately swung into action.

A member of the public who witnessed the incident alerted the minor’s mother who on setting her eyes on her daughter sobbed uncontrollably.

“I cannot believe my eyes. Why do you want to ruin my young daughter,” she said.

As the situation got out of hand, the suspect was thrown into a Police van that sped away.

Members of the public called for arrest of such men whom they claimed were responsible for high dropout rate of school girls in the area.
