Three bodies of victims of the Budalang’i boat tragedy were Wednesday retrieved from River Nzoia as the search extended to Lake Victoria.
The bodies two middle-aged men and a baby were found.

So far, seven bodies have been pulled out of the water since the ill-fated boat heading for Mau Mau from Port Victoria overturned at Narera crossing point on River Nzoia in Budalang’i Constituency on Saturday.

It is not clear how many more bodies could be in the water, but a number of families are still camping on the river bank, insisting that their relatives were on the boat.
JUST A HOUSEWIFE

Mr Stephen Osogo, who is leading the recovery effort, said: “It seems no one knows the exact number of passengers who were in the boat, although it is estimated that they were 18.”
The mother of three children, who drowned, appealed for help to bury them.

“I have no money to bury my children. I am just a housewife and my husband has no source of income,” Ms Hellen Akello said.

Those still missing include boat operators Brian Olobo and Vitalis Olobo—Form Three students at St John Osogo.
