The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) leader Raila Odinga has given the Director of Public Prosecution Keriako Tobiko three days to name those involved in the Eurobond saga, failure to which, he will publicly mention them.

Mr Odinga said it was time the government revealed to Kenyans how the Eurobond money was spent saying the country will not be taken for a ride.

The ODM party leader who was speaking on Saturday at Kolalo Grounds in Ugunja town said the country had lost billions of shillings.

Bwana Tobiko sisi hatutaki huo mchezo wako. Tuambie kama pesa zilipotea ama hazikupotea la sivyo mimi nitakuonyesa (Mr Tobiko we do not want your games. Tell us whether money was lost or not or else I will show you),” said Mr Odinga amidst cheers from the crowd.

The Opposition chief was responding to a statement by the DPP indicating that no funds from the Eurobond were misused following investigations by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.

In his statement, Mr Tobiko however said his office will conduct an independent investigation into the EACC report regarding the loss of Sh140 billion as indicated by Mr Odinga.

On Saturday, the ODM leader insisted that no single cent from the Eurobond proceeds was deposited in the Kenyan accounts including at the Central Bank of Kenya adding that CBK Governor Patrick Njoroge can even attest to that.

He said the loss was to blame for the inflation, depreciation of the Kenyan shilling against the dollar, increased interest rates as well as unemployment.

He asked the DPP to tell Kenyans how much was borrowed, where it was it deposited, how much has been spent on infrastructure development and the remaining amount.

Mr Odinga also faulted the DPP for directing the Auditor-General Edward Ouko to investigate how the Eurobond money was used arguing that he is hiding something from Kenyans.

“If the DPP has found no evidence incriminating any government official in the Eurobond saga why is he asking the Auditor General to conduct a special audit on how the Eurobond money has funded various development projects,” said Mr Odinga.

Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi accused the jubilee administration of interfering with the operations of the institutions set up to fight corruption.

Mr Wandayi who is also ODM director of political affairs stated that the office of the DPP has been compromised to cover up corruption perpetuated by the government over the Eurobond saga.
