Police are tracking down a male student who is suspected to have killed his alleged lover on Friday evening in Narok town.

The body of the 22-year-old Maasai Mara University female student was found in her rented apartment in Manyatta Estate.

Preliminary findings by the police showed that she was raped and killed in a suspected love triangle.

Students claimed the Moi University, Eldoret, student visited the woman before her death on Thursday.

Narok North Deputy OCPD Charles Ouma said the body was discovered by neighbours who peeped through the window of the one-roomed house and called the police after efforts to wake her up bore no fruits.

“Her half-naked body was found on the bed covered with a sheet, and she might have been raped then killed,” said Mr Ouma.

The body has been taken to the Narok Referral Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem.

The students, through Students’ Union Secretary General Kinzi Keiza, have called for a quick probe into the incident.

“We are therefore giving the police until Monday to produce the suspect to face the law failure to which we will hold demonstrations," said Mr Keiza.

The university is yet to make a statement over the incident.
