WORK TOGETHER

Senator Kiraitu Murungi said Meru MPs, who have in the recent past been divided over various issues, met in Nairobi on Wednesday and agreed to work together.

Mr Murungi said both leaders and Meru residents have great expectations about the Head of State’s visit and that he would be welcomed by mammoth crowds. It will be the first time for Mr Kenyatta to tour the county since he won the presidency in 2013.

The Head of State will address the problems facing miraa and tea farmers in the vote-rich county, said Mr Murungi.

Mr Buku said Mr Kenyatta will Saturday start his visit at Mikinduri in Tigania East, where he will address the residents. He will later visit Mutuati in Igembe North, where he will issue title deeds.

He will also visit Maili Tatu and Maua. In Maua, he will also issue title deeds.

Governor Peter Munya said: “I urge residents to welcome President Kenyatta. We respect him because he has been supporting development projects in this region.”
