A family in Emukowa Village in Butere Sub-County were on Thursday thrown into shock after a son hit his mother with a stool killing her on the spot.

“The boy was so furious when he found his parents quarrelling. He tried to intervene but was unable. He angrily threw the stool at his dad but the seat missed the target and killed her mother,” said Jane Wekesa, an eyewitness.

The father, Gerald Odongo, told Nation he had arrived home from work and asked his wife to cook for him but she told him that their daughter would do it.

“When we were still talking with my wife, my son entered the house and started beating me up,” he said.

Mr Odongo claimed that his son son hit him on the head with a crude weapon, pushed him down before pouncing on his mother, killing her on the spot.

The fight prompted his eldest son to alert the police who then arrested the suspect.

He is being held at Butere Police Station.

“My brother was drunk when he found my parents quarrelling. He tried to intervene but by bad luck it became a tragedy,” said Odongo’s eldest son.

Butere OCPD Josephine Mbane said they will investigating the incident.
