TSC demotes, moves over 50 school heads

Over 50 secondary school heads have either been transferred or demoted in Homa Bay and Nyamira counties.

A few primary school heads have also been moved in changes that saw some deputy principals getting promotions.

In Homa Bay, 35 principals have been affected in the shuffle that takes effect this term. Twenty-two are from Rachuonyo North and South sub-counties, five from Homa Bay, three from Ndhiwa, and five in Suba and Mbita.

Mr Bonventure Olando of Mirogi Boys School has been moved to Tonga in Suba. He takes over from Mr Daniel Owich, who has been transferred to Wandiji School in Mbita.

Mr Naphtally Omonge of Ligisa has been moved to Rabango, where he swaps places with Mr Moses Amuom, while Mr Ochieng Koyier has been moved from Oluso to George Agola Owuor Secondary School.

Mrs Eunice Osodo of Magina Girls School takes over from Mr Meshack Odieny at St Ambrose Got Rabuor in Homa Bay Town. Mr Odieny has been transferred to Kanyamfwa Secondary in Rachuonyo North.

In Nyamira, 18 headteachers have either been transferred or demoted.

The schools whose heads have been transferred are Nyamiranga, Menyenya, Nyairang’a, Nyakeore, Nyakongo, Matongo ELCK, Kiabonyoru, Tombe Girls, Menyenya, Rigoko, Kineni, Riosiago, Nyariacho, Bogwendo, Marindi, Nyamiranga, Mongoris and Bosiango.

Many of the principals swapped positions, except Tombe Girls head Eunice Abadi, who was transferred to Rabora Secondary School in Homa Bay County.

County Director of Education Alex Cheruyot said Nyakeore Secondary School Principal Donald Mong’are was demoted to a classroom teacher. His place has been taken by Mr Bruce Kerage of Nyakongo Secondary School.

Mr Kennedy Agwata of Kiabonyoru is the new principal of Nyakongo.
