Students in Thuura High School in North Imenti have benefited from a donation of a standby generator from the Meru County Woman representative Florence Kajuju.

The Sh82, 000 generator will help the students during power blackouts which are frequent in Meru.

“Last time when I visited this school I asked the students what they would like me to do for them so that they can improve their performance and they told me they want a generator. Now they have no reason not to perform better,” Kajuju said when she was handing over the generator.

She also challenged the students to work hard to guarantee themselves good careers that are competitive and take up opportunities due to improved economic status of the country.

“I am what I am because I went to school and that is what propelled me to go into politics. If you study hard you are eligible to be better people in the society and will help our country to grow,” she said.

She also called on the students to concentrate on their studies for better results.

Ms Kajuju said the country needs educated leaders.
