Police arrest two Al-Shabaab terror suspects in Lamu

  • Police also recovered a motorcycle that they believe was used in the Kaisari village attack from the two terror suspects.

Two suspected Al-Shabaab terrorists were arrested in Lamu County on Friday morning by the local Directorate of Criminal Investigations officers.

The two Kenyan-born Somali youth, aged 21 and 22 years old, were arrested at Pangani in Lamu West sub-county.

Lamu DCIO Prosper Bosire said they had been tracking them since an attack on January 31, 2016 at Kaisari village which left three dead and several injured.

“We have confirmed beyond a doubt that the two were members of the Al-Shabab militants who have been terrorising Lamu residents,” said Mr Bosire.

Police also recovered a motorcycle that they believe was used in the Kaisari village attack from the two terror suspects.
