Supporters of Murang’a Governor Mwangi Wa Iria who roughed up anti-corruption detectives who had raided his house will be prosecuted, County Commissioner Kula Hache said Monday.

She said what happened at the home was uncalled for.

It was part of anti-corruption officers’ mandate to conduct the searches, she said.

Speaking to journalists in her office, Ms Hache said police were investigating the matter.

“No one is above the law,” she remarked.

The tough-talking Ms Hache said they will reign on all law breakers and urged the youth to stop being misused by politicians.

On Thursday last week, detectives stormed Mr Wa Iria’s house but the governor’s supporters attacked them and destroyed some of the documents they were holding.
