Ward rep apologises over placard on William Ruto
A county assembly member who carried a placard that appeared to insinuate that Deputy President William Ruto should be locked up at The Hague was on Monday at pains to clear his name.
Mr Vincent Kiror, the Saimo/Kipsaraman ward representative, begged for forgiveness from the Kalenjin community and Mr Ruto, saying he was not aware of what was written on the controversial placard, which he carried during a prayer rally for Mr Ruto and former radio journalist Joshua arap Sang.
The placard that landed him in trouble bore the message: "Ruto in, Sang out".
