During the tour, the minister is expected to address water-related conflict particularly between horticulture farmers and pastoralists in Isiolo.

“We want to enhance access to water and sanitation from the current 60 per cent,” Mr Wamalwa said in Nanyuki on Monday.

Projects in the five counties include Isiolo (Sh262 million), Laikipia (Sh226.8 million), Embu (Sh196.6 million), Tharaka-Nithi (Sh196.6 million) and Meru (Sh132.8 million).

In addition to the projects, the government is planning to build several mega dams in Laikipia County, among them Crocodile Jaw in Laikipia North that will supply water to the proposed Isiolo Resort City.

Other dams will be built in Wiyumiririe and Kahurura.
