You’re petty, Kabogo tells his critics

Governor William Kabogo has accused his critics of “petty politicking” and said that will not distract him from his work.

The governor said he would transform Kiambu into a model county despite attacks by his critics, including MPs from the region.

He shrugged off Senator Kimani Wamatangi’s ultimatum to him to reconcile with the legislators or be impeached.

The senator and other MPs from the region have threatened to impeach Mr Kabogo, accusing him of mismanaging the affairs of the county.

However, the governor accused the leaders of witch-hunt, arguing that his record speaks for itself.

“These people have undertaken to derail me by making all manner of accusations and falsehoods against my government and the person of Kabogo, but I will not be swayed.”

The governor spoke on Tuesday while opening five water projects in Gatundu North and Juja constituencies. The county government spent Sh10 million on the projects. MPs for the constituencies, Mr Kigo Njenga and Mr Munyua Waititu, skipped the function.

Mr Kabogo claimed the leaders were fighting him because of his development record.

TALKING ILL OF ME

“They think by talking ill of me I will become unpopular, but I am unshaken and will continue to work for the people who elected me,” he said while commissioning the Kiahuria water project in Juja.

Mr Kabogo was accompanied by four county assembly members and accused the media of only highlighting negative issues in the county.

Mang’u ward representative Kimani Gacihi accused Mr Wamatangi of fighting the county’s leadership instead of pushing for allocation of more funds to Kiambu.

Ms Emily Warutere, a nominated county assembly member, challenged the MPs opposed the governor to account for millions allocated by the Constituency Development Fund.

She said Ms Alice Ng’ang’a (Thika Town) and Mr Jude Njomo (Kiambu) and Mr Waititu should be held accountable.
