Robbers shoot dead boda boda rider in Isiolo, injure two

A boda boda rider was on Monday night shot dead and two others injured by armed robbers in Isiolo.

County Criminal Investigating Officer David Cheruiyot confirmed that the robbers were armed with an AK-47 rifle and no arrests had been made.

He said the thugs also injured two boda boda riders using knives.

The deceased, Geoffrey Gikundi 21, is said to have been attacked first.

When his colleagues tried to confront the thugs, they were also attacked.

“By the time police arrived at the scene, the thugs had already escaped,” said the CCIO.

The thugs were robbing motorists along the Bula Mpya road at around 8pm.

The injured were rushed to Isiolo Level Four Hospital, where they were said to be in stable condition.
