KCSE candidate dies while undergoing treatment

A Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidate has died while undergoing treatment.

Kellan Nekesa, 22, of Mabusi Secondary School was receiving treatment for Malaria at the Bungoma County Referral Hospital when she succumbed.

The facility's medical superintendent Dr Magrina Mayama said Ms Nekesa was brought to the hospital on Sunday while unconscious.

After some treatment Ms Nekesa gained her coinsousness and attempted to do a paper on Monday afternoon but she could not finish.

Her father said, prior to her hospitalisation she had complained of aches in her stomach and head.

Her body was taken to the facility's morgue awaiting postmortem.
