Mudavadi, Wetang'ula parties fail to hold primaries in Homa Bay

Nominations for Amani National Congress (ANC) and Ford Kenya parties which were scheduled to be conducted in Homa Bay County today did not to kick off after aspirants and party officials failed to turn up for the exercise.
Instead, aspirants for various seats in the county intensified their campaigns.
Attempts to locate the officials of the parties or the venues of the exercises bore no fruits.
Homa Bay County Police Commandant John Omusanga told Nation.co.ke that they learnt through the media that the parties had nomination exercises in the county but they had not yet been officially informed.
"Officials of the two parties have not notified police over their planned nominations today," said Mr Omusanga.
In Homa Bay, few aspirants seeking parliamentary and ward positions have declared their interests to vie on the two parties' tickets.
Homa Bay Town parliamentary aspirant on Ford Kenya ticket, Bon Awuor, said he did not prepare for nominations because he does not have any challenger for the party's ticket.
"I am seeking to unseat the current Homa Bay Town MP on a Ford Kenya ticket. I do not have a challenger for the ticket," said Mr Awuor.
ODM which enjoys huge support in the county will conduct its nominations on April 21.
