A Form One student is fighting for his life in Homa Bay County after strangers injected him with a strange substance.

He is admitted to Matata Nursing Home in Oyugis town.

The student at Kowidi Mixed Secondary School in Rachuonyo East Sub-County was on the way to school Wednesday morning when he was attacked.

According to his father, a head teacher at a local primary school, the son was going to school for morning studies at about 6.30am.

Two men wearing helmets emerged from a sugarcane plantation and began chasing him. He ran but fell down and they caught up with him.

LEGS

They blindfolded him and carried him to a nearby bush where they ties his hands and legs before injecting him with the substance.

"They used ropes to tie his hands and legs to separate trees before injecting him the unknown substance,” he said.

The boy wailed and a woman, who was passing by, came to his rescue.

The men were not at the scene when the woman arrived. She tried to untie the ropes but they were too tight forcing her to call for help.

INFECT

The father said other people who were passing by assisted the boy, who was unconscious and his body was swollen.

"My son could not sit steadily on a motorbike. He is unable to move,” said the father.

"We can't tell exactly what the criminals were up to. We don't know whether they intended to infect him with a disease or chop off his genitals," he said.

He called on well-wishers to help the family seek better medical treatment for their son.

Homa Bay County Police Commander Marius Tum said they had launched investigations into the matter.
