Elephant tramples man to death in Kulamawe, Isiolo

An elephant Thursday trampled an 18-year-old man to death in Kulamawe, Isiolo County.
Guyo Hussein Gollo sat his Kenya Certificate of Secondary School exam in 2015 and was expecting his results later February.
A resident, Mr Hassan Hussein, said the jumbo from the Shaba National Reserve wandered into the village at 10am before trampling the man.
The animal, which also destroyed crops, is said to have turned violent after angry residents tried to chase it away.
A number of people have in the past been killed by elephants roaming from the nearby reserve.
County Senior Warden Michael Gichure said the man was unaware of the danger posed by elephants as he ventured too close to it before the tragedy happened.
Mr Gichure said his officers had been sent to investigate the matter.
The deceased was buried the same day in line with Islamic rites.
