Kajiado gubernatorial aspirant Tarayia ole Kores has faulted politicians who use clan politics to garner support in the county.

Mr Kores, a Jubilee Party aspirant, said the county has achieved a cosmopolitan status whose leadership should embrace its new outlook.

He made the remarks on Tuesday during a campaign tour in Kitengela.

The two main clans in Kajiado, Orok-Kiteng (Black Cows) and Odo-mongi (Red cows) have dominated leadership positions in the county.

Mr Kores is from the bigger Odo-mongi clan, same as incumbent governor Dr David Nkendianye. His rivals, former Internal Secretary Joseph ole Lenku and Daniel Nina are from Orok-Kiteng clan.

Mr Kores promised residents he will lobby for the upgrading of Magadi Road to dual carriageway status.

He also promised to construct a modern waste management plant and a bigger market for vendors.
