Rivals youths clash in Kericho after matatu is stoned

Rowdy youths blocked the Kericho highway, just in the middle of the CBD, protesting what they termed as provocation by youths from Chemelil (Kisumu County) who injured seven passengers and shattered windows of four vehicles belonging to Wareng Sacco.

They engaged police in running battles, especially after they started hurling stones and carrying rocks to the middle of the road.

Police officers were forced to throw teargas and fire in the air to disperse them.

The angry youths were angered by the confrontation they claimed happened last evening alleging that youths in Chemelil who barricaded the road after the declaration of Uhuru Kenyatta as president-elect.
