ODM nominations in Kwale County hit by delays
ODM primaries in Kwale County were on Saturday hit by delays in distributing voting materials.
By 7am, all the four constituencies including Matuga, Msambweni, Kinango and Lungalunga were yet to receive ballot boxes.
A spot check by the Nation at Mwadinda and Mwalugulu Primary Schools showed voters waiting for the balloting to start.
A voter, Hamisi Mwawandembo, complained that his time was being wasted by the delay.
"I was here by 5.30am hoping to vote and leave by 6.30am and go to work, but I am still here two hours later. This is wrong," he said.
At Mwalugulu Primary School polling centre, a sizeable crowd had gathered to vote but were disappointed by the delay.
At Mwaroni Primary School, three armed police officers stood by waiting for the ballot boxes and clerks.
Mr Mohamed Mwachego said he was the first to arrive at 5.30am and lamented over the delay.
"I was here very early but until now, there is no sign that we will vote soon. My idea was to vote early and go to work; I am disappointed," he said.
