Family, ODM endorse late Juma Boy’s brother for Senate seat

The brother of former Kwale Senator Boy Juma Boy has accepted his family’s and local ODM branch’s endorsement to vie for the senator’s seat.

Mr Issah Juma has been endorsed by Lunga Lunga ODM branch to replace the senator who died in February.

Mr Juma promised to follow in the footsteps of his brother, saying he will be faithful to the party.

“I will be tougher than him in the war against corruption,” said Mr Juma who also enjoys the support of Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori.

“I want to thank all delegates for endorsing me and let me assure you that my stand is firm and I will not let you down on this journey,” he added.

He said he will be traversing the county to sell his agenda.

BATTLE WITH JUBILEE

Lunga Lunga ODM chairman Nyiro Kidangu told the Jubilee Party and Governor Salim Mvurya to prepare for the fiercest battle for the control of Kwale votes.

“We have officially endorsed Issah for the senator’s seat. Many people have come out for this seat as they knew the force to reckon with was no longer there but let me tell them that we have filled that gap and the war against Jubilee and those who defected has just started,” he said.

Mr Kidangu vowed that ODM will wipe out any Jubilee support in the county.

Recently, Jubilee got a boost in the county following the defection of Mr Mvurya and Woman Representative Zainab Chidzuga from ODM to the ruling coalition.

Mr Kidangu said locals support ODM leader Raila Odinga for presidency because of fighting for devolution and unearthing of “so many scandals.”

Other aspirants for the Kwale senatorial seat include Kinyasi Ginora (ANC), Mshenga Ruga (Jubilee), Hassan Mzinga (Jubilee), Nicholas Zani (ODM), Ibrahim Bulushi (Ford-Kenya), Japheth Muthoka (Jubilee) and Stanley Matano (Jubilee).
