Don’t politicise Tunoi, Kidero bribery claims, says Meru Governor Peter Munya

Council of Governors Chairman Peter Munya has called for sobriety in the handling of bribery allegations against Justice Philip Tunoi and Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero.

Addressing journalists in Meru Town, Mr Munya said there was need to give room for investigations into the allegations to be completed.

"The allegations against the governor and (Mr) Justice Philip Tunoi are under investigations. No one should politicise the issue," Mr Munya said.

He said the Judiciary had taken up the matter adding that the reputations of those mentioned were at stake.

"The allegations involve the highest court in the land hence they should be left to legal institutions to investigate.

Mr Geoffrey Kiplagat has sworn an affidavit alleging that Justice Tunoi received $2 million (Sh200 million) from Dr Kidero to rule in his favour in an election petition filed by Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu.
