Meru Governor Peter Munya has accused Kenya Power of hampering health care delivery in the county due to delays in repairing faulty transformers.

Speaking while opening Mwanika dispensary in Imenti Central on Friday, Mr Munya said several health facilities were not operational due to lack of electricity.

He also accused Kenya Power of being slow in connecting power to high masts erected by the county government in various markets.

He accused the company’s staff in Meru of “sleeping on the job”.

The governor said several health facilities are not operating because transformers are not working.
