Police hold 18 foreigners in Maua

Police have arrested 18 foreigners in Maua town in Meru County on Saturday as they were boarding a Nairobi-bound matatu.
Officers said the foreigners, suspected to be Somalia nationals, had travelled from Dadaab in a lorry.
The migrants are being held at Maua Police Station for further questioning together with the person who was facilitating their transportation.
Last year in August, dozens of Ethiopians were found guilty of being in the country illegally and sentenced to three months in prison or pay a fine of Sh50,000 each.
The 78 Ethiopian migrants will be repatriated after serving their terms.
