Two killed in Matunda Gate accident, one in hospital

Two people died and another was injured on Wednesday when a vehicle they were travelling in developed mechanical problems at Matunda Gate, Meru County, on the Isiolo-Nanyuki road.
One passenger suffered injuries on his right leg and hand and is recuperating at Isiolo County Hospital. He is in stable condition.
MECHANICAL PROBLEMS
According to the police, the vehicle carrying crates of tomatoes was headed to Isiolo when it developed mechanical problems and veered off the road, hitting a rock.
“Two men perished after a Toyota pickup carrying tomatoes veered off the road after developing mechanical problems. The driver and one of the two passengers died instantly,'' said Buuri OCPD David Muange.
He said investigations are underway.
The bodies were taken to Nanyuki Referral Hospital mortuary.
