Lawmakers from Nyambene claim that the Jubilee Government ignored them when making appointments.

According to them, the current regime is not all-inclusive and they will look for 'other options' if the trend continues.

"We are watching this government closely and we are bound to change our minds soon and look at another direction if an action is not taken," Mr David Karithi (Tigania West) said on Monday.

His Igembe South counterpart Mithika Linturi noted their support for the current leaders during the 2013 General Election and said there are many professionals available in the region for the government to choose from.

TREAT SEPARATELY

"We have been ignored for so long and therefore we need to be recognised.

"The government should understand that our problems are totally different from those of other parts of Meru and treat us separately," said Mr Linturi.

Mr Linturi added that they would form a team called the 'Nyambene Community Stakeholders Forum’ that will help fight perennial problems such as cattle rustling, lack of title deeds, insecurity and lack of recognition.

He also said they would hold various meetings in every constituency in Tigania and Igembe to plot their way forward.

They were speaking at a meeting in Maili tatu grounds in Igembe Central constituency.

Other MPs included Mpuru Aburi (Tigania East), Kubai Kiringo (Igembe Central) and Joseph M'EruakI (Igembe North).
