Police Friday shot dead a suspected criminal at Hongera in Kisauni, Mombasa County.
A 42-year-old man was caught in the melee and shot by what police said was a stray bullet.
The bullet is lodged in his chest and he is fighting for his life at the Coast Provincial General Hospital.
