Policeman killed by assailants in Mombasa

A police officer has been shot dead at Bondeni area in Mombasa County by unknown assailants.
Eye witnesses said the officer guarding GulfAfrican Bank, Bondeni branch was shot on the forehead by hooded gunmen at around 3.20 pm.
He said the three attackers appeared suddenly, briefly exchanged words with the slain officer, robbed him of his gun and shot him before escaping on foot with the gun.
“The three guys appeared, sat down and confiscated the gun from the officer, they shot him and escaped, we were surprised” said a witness who spoke on condition of anonymity.
The officer was rushed to Coast General Hospital but succumbed to his injuries on arrival.
