A woman in her mid-20s has pleaded guilty to seriously injuring her husband’s manhood.

The prosecution in a Mombasa court said Ms Angel Mutuku assaulted Mr Stephen Ochieng Oyuga at Magongo, Changamwe in Mombasa County, last Thursday.

Prosecuting Counsel Lydia Kagori, however, asked Chief Magistrate Julius Nang’ea to defer the case to Wednesday.

“We wish to present the facts of the case on Wednesday,” said Ms Kagori.

“There may be more charges preferred against the accused person.”

Mr Oyuga is admitted to Bomu Medical Centre.

OVERSLEEPING

A statement by the complainant at Changamwe Police Station said the woman slapped the man on his back accusing him of oversleeping in their bedroom at around 5.30am.

The man then slapped her “for waking him very roughly” before a fight ensued between them.

The woman then went in the kitchen and emerged with a small knife, with which she attacked him before leaving for work, leaving the man writhing in pain.

And when the court clerk read out the charge facing her, she admitted having committed the offence.

The trial magistrate directed that she be detained until Wednesday when prosecution is expected to read facts of the case and probably prefer fresh charges against her.
