Police recover two bodies dumped along Nairobi’s southern bypass

Police have recovered two bodies that were found dumped along the southern bypass near the Lenana School.

Dagoreti OCPD Rashid Mohammed said that the two men could have been killed elsewhere and the bodies dumped at the scene.

One body was on top of the other and their necks were swollen.

“They appear to have been strangled to death before their bodies were dumped near Lenana.

“The bodies are, however, yet to be identified,” the OCPD said.

Mutuini Chief George Mikuria also told the Nation that the deceased persons were not residents of Dagoretti.

Police records indicate that over 50 bodies have been found dumped across the country in the last one month.

On Monday evening last week, three bodies were found dumped at Tagwa near Mt Kenya in Nyeri County.

Police later released the identities of the deceased.

One of them was identified as Patrick Gitonga Ndei, 26.

Mr Ndei was a boda boda rider in Nyeri Town and hailed from Tetu.

Mr Ndei is believed to be the owner of the motorcycle which was set ablaze near a river in Chaka, a few hours before the bodies were discovered.

The other person was identified as Mr James Kabagi Miring’u, 19, from Shamata Location in Nyandarua while the third was Mr Justin Okwara, 23, from Kisii District.

All the bodies were found with gunshot wounds on the head and chest.

Dozens of other bodies have been found dumped in Ruai, Mathare and Buruburu over the same period.

Last month in Langata, police found the bodies of a woman and her child who were also dumped a few metres from where the two bodies were found dumped on Tuesday morning.
