A suspected serial killer alleged to have murdered four people at Nairobi’s City Park died after he was knocked down by a vehicle while running away from police.

The man was run over by a vehicle on Limuru Road after he jumped off a foot bridge at 5am Wednesday.

A police officer, who did not want to be named, said police had set a trap for the man at the park.

The officer said the suspect was about to attack a man, who was walking in the park, and ran when he saw the police.

“He had a metal bar and a rungu that we believe he used to attack his previous victims,” the officer said.

The officer said police almost caught up with the suspect but he jumped down the foot bridge and was knocked down by a speeding car.

Three men and a woman were killed at City Park last week.

The victims had their heads smashed and three big, bloodied rocks were placed near their bodies.
