Police in Nairobi are investigating an assault case involving two senior officials at the Office of the President.

A female official claimed that a male colleague slapped her.

The officer has reported the matter at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre Police Station.

The incident was booked at 6.35 pm on Thursday last week.

A source privy to the investigations said the two had argued over “office space,” as they waited to receive President Kenyatta on his return from the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

PRESIDENT'S OFFICE

The incident allegedly happened outside Harambee House, where the President’s office is located.

It was not immediately established if the accused officer has recorded any statements with the police.

Separately, an Administration Police officer sustained injuries after he was assaulted by a female MP.

The officer, who is attached to Parliament, attracted the wrath of the legislator when he insisted on searching her car before allowing her in.

The Nation has established that the officer requested a P3 form after treatment, but it was not immediately clear if he had made a formal complaint.
