One killed in crash on Nairobi’s Eastern Bypass

One person died after a truck and a salon car collided on the Eastern Bypass near the General Service Unit (GSU) training school.

The crash occurred at 7a.m on Sunday when the truck, which was coming from Ruiru towards Embakasi collided with the car heading the opposite direction.

“The truck driver was overtaking when the (driver of the) salon car drove off the road. The truck driver also drove off the road and they rammed into each other,” said the Nairobi Traffic Commandant Edward Mwamburi.

It took hours for police to retrieve the body of the driver from the salon car. The body was taken to City Mortuary.
