KDF man held for punching and injuring police officer

A soldier was held in police custody after he punched a policewoman in the face then pushed her to the ground.

The police officer attached to Lang’ata Police Station in Nairobi sustained injuries and was treated at the city’s Nairobi West Hospital.

The 8.45pm incident happened at Southlands estate on Thursday.

“Police officers were on patrol when they came across two men who were quarrelling. The officers intervened. The KDF corporal then attacked the officer. She sustained a deep cut in the mouth and facial injuries,” said a police report.

Separately, police are investigating the death of a man in Kayole.

The body was found on a mattress inside an abandoned iron sheets structure at Liuda at 7pm on Thursday.

Another body, with a rope around the neck was found in Kamulu, near Kayole, at 6am on the same day.

It was found in a trench on the roadside.

Police estimated the victim was aged between 30 and 35 years.

They also suspect the man, who is yet to be identified, was murdered elsewhere and the body dumped there.
