Four armed men raided the residence of Kasarani MP Njoroge Chege and injured a guard on Thursday morning.

The thugs stole the lawmaker’s vehicle, a Mitsubishi Pajero, during the 3am attack.

Speaking after the attack, Mr Njoroge said his life is in danger because the suspects trailed him and struck shortly after he parked the car.

“I know police are investigating the matter, but as a politician who has political enemies, there is urgent need to know who is behind the attack,” he said.

Kasarani OCPD Francis Sang said the MP was not injured as he was already inside the house.

The gang pretended to be Mr Chege’s visitors and were allowed to enter the compound after registering their names at the main entrance to the gated compound.

They struggled to break into the MP’s car, raising the attention of the guard.

When the guard went to the scene to investigate, he was attacked.

Police are investigating whether the thugs were after documents the MP had in the car.

The attack at Mr Chege’s residence came a day after Korogocho Ward Representative Maxwell Ochar was shot and injured by gunmen riding on a motorcycle near his house.
