A Chinese tour operator who stabbed and killed his compatriot following a scuffle over a dining table has been charged with murder.
Lee Changqin was charged in a Nakuru court on Wednesday.
He was charged with killing Luo Jinli on August 8 at Sun Africa Hotel Keekorok Lodge in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve.
Mrs Luo, 45, was in the company of her husband, Dong Yi, 47.
The Chinese couple were part of a larger group of tourists visiting the Mara to witness the wildebeest migration, among other tourist attractions in the wildlife reserve.
Mr Lee denied the charges before Justice Maureen Odero and was released on a Sh1 million bond with a Kenyan surety of a similar amount.
He has coordinated tour groups of Chinese nationals visiting Kenya for the past 20 years.
He was arraigned in a Narok court last week and had been detained for 10 days pending investigations.
