Comedian Churchill to help Nakuru County nurture youth talent

Youths in Nakuru will have more opportunities after a seasoned comedian, Daniel Ndambuki, popularly known as Churchill, sought partnership between the county government and Laugh Industries Ltd.

This was revealed when Mr Ndambuki visited Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua in his office Wednesday.

During the visit, Mr Ndambuki unveiled plans to host in the county the hugely popular school holiday children’s event, The Kids Festival, in August and the "Churchill Show" in December amongst other events.

Governor Mbugua on his part said he would fully support the creation of a sustainable theatre platform in Nakuru County,

Mr Mbugua added that plans were under way to rehabilitate Nakuru Players Theatre, where youngsters will nurture and sharpen their artistic talents.

ENRICH NAKURU YOUTH

He also said that the initiatives, led by Mr Ndambuki through his company, will go a long way in enriching the youth in Nakuru who for a long time have not had an appropriate platform to showcase their talents.

On his part, Mr Ndambuki said his company had identified Nakuru as one of the key counties that could be transformed into an artistic hub owing to the rich talent available.

Governor Mbugua noted that one of his pledges was to empower the youth of Nakuru and added that he was committed to supporting Mr Ndambuki’s cause in aiding and uplifting the artistic talent that he said was evidently abundant in Nakuru County.

SUCCESSFUL TV SHOWS

The renowned comedian has created successful TV shows since he introduced his style of comedy in early 2000.

He has thousands of fans who watch his shows on TV and also online.

He is also a household name, appearing on a local FM radio station’s morning show, where he goes by a different stage name, Mwalimu King’ang’i.

He first came into the limelight during the popular "Redykyulass" comedy show, which aired on local TV stations at different times.

He acted alongside other popular comedians, including Walter Mongare (Nyambane), Peter Kaimenyi (Kajairo), Maurice Otieno (Mdomo Baggy), John Kiarie (KJ) and Anthony Njuguna.

Mr Ndambuki currently hosts the popular "Churchill Show," which airs on Nation Media Group’s NTV every Sunday evening.
