A fire gutted down a section of a dormitory at Nakuru Boys High School on Wednesday night.

No one was injured in the 8 p.m incident as students were in class for evening preps.

Property of students in two cubicles in the dormitory were destroyed.

The school principal declined to speak to journalists.

The affected dormitory is one of the oldest ones in the school. The dormitory hosts 42 students.

The two affected cubicles accommodated 12 students.

Nakuru Sub-county Education Officer Mrs Eunice Khaemba, who toured the school Wednesday morning said police have launched investigations into the cause of the fire.

“There is enough space to accommodate all the students until the affected dormitory is renovated since Form One (students) have not yet reported,” Mrs Khaemba said.
