Tom Cholmondeley, Lord Delamere’s heir, was buried on Friday at an emotional invite only ceremony at the family’ Soysambu ranch in Naivasha.

Among the mourners were Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua, Senator Gideon Moi, Gilgil MP Mathenge Ndiritu and former Attorney General Charles Njonjo.

The late Tom was eulogised by his parents as a “thoroughly good guy” who had great ideas.

When the parents visited him at Kamiti Maximum Security Prison he told them that he did not want to be “bided by tyranny of time.”

“He was also accident prone while riding horses, one of his hobbies,” wrote the distraught parents.

One of his friends, who he met at Kamiti, Peter Ouko, also penned a moving tribute, describing him as an affable and down-to-earth person.

Mr Njonjo spoke for less than a minute, saying he was deeply saddened by the death of Tom.
